The Non-Metallic Innovation Centre is holding a webinar on 30 July, 2024 dedicated to surface preparation for adhesive bonding.
Surface pre-treatments are important for ensuring a good adhesive bond, with this event providing details of the different options available for effective pre-treatment as well as the consequences of not getting the surface preparations right.
TWI’s Advanced Composites and Adhesives Consultant, Dr Ewen Kellar will present at the online event, where he will also provide details of work undertaken by TWI to create the perfect invisible defect, which is an important first step towards developing NDT capabilities for defect detection.
Ewen has over 30 years’ experience in adhesive technologies, primarily at TWI, where he has worked across a wide range of industry sectors and applications, helping customers with their bonding challenges and requirements. Now a consultant in adhesive technology, Ewen’s areas of interest include surface preparation, plasma pre-treatments, spectroscopy, mechanical testing and failure investigation.
