Non-Metallic Innovation Centre (NIC) representatives, sponsors and associates were all in attendance at the AMI-hosted ‘Polymer Engineering for Energy’ event.

The event took place in London from 3-4 December, 2024, providing a forum for suppliers of polymer-based products and solutions for the energy sector.

The event also covered new advances in polymer engineering for hydrogen service and the global energy transition.

The two-day event included formal presentations, panel debates and networking opportunities. A number of NIC representatives, Sponsors, and Associate Members presented on a range of topics, including:

  • Unlocking the potential of non-metallics (polymers) in the oil and gas industry and accelerating the energy transition [Saqer Al Messabi, Senior Specialist - Asset Integrity, Adnoc]
  • Unlocking high-temperature flowline solutions: introducing next-generation PPS range for energy excellence [Marco Colladon, Customer Technical Development Engineer, Syensqo]
  • Fiber glass gratings for offshore: rule and benefits [Gustavo de Souza, Director Sales Brazil, Nov Fiber Glass Systems]
  • Novel thermal welding technique for enhanced reliability of RTR pipelines [Thibault Villette, Research Science Specialist -Non-metallic Application Development - R&DC, Saudi Aramco]
  • Expanding the use of non-metallic GRE pipelines in upstream and midstream applications [Ahmad Mehwi, Vice President - Product Innovation and Development, Future Pipe Industries]
