Representatives from the Non-metallic Innovation Centre (NIC) attended the Middle East Metallurgy, Corrosion and Coatings EXPO (MECOC EXPO 2025) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The three day event ran from 14-16 January, 2025, and comprised of three distinct conferences, with one taking place each day, as follows:
- Corrosion and Coatings Conference: Providing insights into the latest advancements in corrosion prevention and management as well as coatings technologies and cathodic protection solutions
- Non-Metallic Materials Conference: Offering cutting-edge innovations in non-metallic materials with a focus on their benefits for pipeline and structural integrity
- Future Steel Conference: Addressing the future of steel with regards to pipeline advancements, structural innovation, and emerging material technologies
Day two of the expo saw the Non-Metallic Materials Conference, which included a key note panel discussion about ‘The Rise of Advanced Composites.’ This panel discussion was moderated by Dr Farshad Salamat-Zadeh (Business Development Manager at TWI – pictured above) and included John Wright from Specialty RTP alongside Dr Abderrazak Traidia of Saudi Aramco and Ayman Amer from ADNOC as panellists.
The three days included presentations from 50 speakers from industry leaders such as ADNOC, Petronas, SABIC, Saudi Aramco, and more. In addition, the NIC was a supporting partner of the event, which attracted over 500 delegates.
